Hi there and welcome to Devlog 67! This week we have Game Developer Conference (GDC) in San Francisco that Matt will be attending to grow the Realm network and catch up on the latest and greatest in Game Development.

Meanwhile the team have been working away diligently on the HOVR game, rewards v2 and of course on bringing gamification features to builder tools.

In the weeks ahead, we are also committed to enhancing all aspects of our platform as we strive to create a gaming experience like no other. Continuous improvement and learning are at the heart of our success, and we have designed all of our features and modules with future compatibility in mind.

Our goal is to enable everyone to build their own microverse and start creating their own games and communities, even with zero code experience. We kindly ask for your support by submitting bug reports to help us ensure a seamless user experience. Thank you for being a part of our journey.

Last week also saw Max Cooper on stage at South by Southwest where his ‘Spectrum Experience’ was featured in his presentation on interactive musical performances. We’re thrilled to have been featured in such a context and have had awesome feedback from the music community on the experience so far!

You can also listen to the founders AMA here, and in the meantime lets get stuck into the dev!

Pole Positions

One of the most hotly anticipated features in the builder tools is the ability to create custom multiplayer matches. Here you can see an important element of that process coming to life — the ability to place a starting line for your match!

Selecting ‘Game’ as the type for your Realm immediately lets us know that this is a competitive realm type, and then placing the lineup smart object allows you to define where players will begin and the configuration of the player counts for the match. This will then feed into whichever gametype you choose to create — for instance Racing, Don’t Fall or eventually HOVR.

We are sure that all the builders amongst you are already thinking about all the possibilities here, and we cant wait to get these features out to test in the coming weeks.

HOVR Freeriding!

One of the coolest features of the Elite HOVRboards is the ability to ride all over the REALM universe in style! These insane boards are sure to attract attention, not to mention they can get you from A to B in record time.

Here we are showing some dev testing of equipping and jumping onto an Elite board in a variety of realms. There are also various board trails that will be available to either purchase or earn to make your boards even more unique and stylish!

We will also be adding freestyle tricks to HOVR in the near future, allowing players to perform a variety of impressive manoeuvres and showcasing their style and skills in a whole new way.

If you haven’t already done so, make sure to get on the whitelist at https://hovr.gg and complete the HOVR questline in Realm to be entered into the FreeMint on Magic Eden!
